My life, My memory, My dream

Every year on this day, I will be flipping through my calendar pages, browsing through my phone - recapping all the events which happened throughout the year, wrapping up all loose ends and prepare for a new year ahead. A year is not long - I realized I didn't achieve much in this whole year and yet it has gone by. Nor it's short either - sometimes my memory failed me, making me forgetting things which happened just less than 2 months ago...

What have I done in 2008? This is what I'm asking myself at this moment, and yet my brain refused to cooperate, I can't think... I don't really know what I've done. It seems my time was wasted. My biggest achievement this year if you ask me, it will be getting accepted in a course I've wanted all along. And having to celebrate my 21st in a great success.

It's all mine! =)

Love them loads...

Cousins in the family always RULE

One of my fav photo of the year...

Birthday celebration was quite a massive one as celebration actually lasted one whole week. First one was celebrated at Crown Princess Hotel with all my family and relatives. Then it was celebrated with college friends who brought me to a club - Poppi Garden, ended up reaching home at 4am in the morning. Not to forget the "sisters" who went out lunch with me and spent precious time together. Last one was a surprise planned by my dear. Never in my dreams I thought of celebrating my birthday with so many of my form 6 school mates + seeing so many candles arranged on the floor for me to blow. I was touched to tears... Thank you all!
21st birthday, I've blew FOUR cakes! =) Presents were uncountable...

Not to forget the wedding of the year!

Cousins with the lovely bride...

Recapping on the past was never an easy task for me. I am a person who adjust to new things easily, but not readily. I prefer to stay in a comfort zone for a long, long time. Each time a thing changes, or a person around me leaves - I'll be left devastated until I'm adjusted to the new environment again. I found out that we cannot choose our surroundings, but we can learn how to blend ourselves in.

How I miss da moments! :(

I still love my dear most...

2008 was a year where I had never-ending exams and tests. All I did was striving hard for each and every exams to get myself meeting all sorts of requirements. Stress was a thing I learned hard to handle, and complaints were safe hidden within myself. During long holidays, I worked in a law firm - to gain pocket money ( priority), and also experiences I will never have in the future. No matter how hard I worked, I didn't really care, because I played hard as well. When I was not required to study for exams, or work on holidays - I'll most probably caught outside shopping, watching movies, on trips, or watching a concert or musical show. This year, half of my pocket-money was well spent on concert tickets and musical shows.
Feb 23rd - Jay Chou's concert, my all-time favorite singer with songs I really love.
June 28th - Gary Cao's concert, sister's idol and I was impressed by his live singing.
Aug 20th - High School Musical ( Ice On Tour), a nice one with lots of efforts and skills.
Aug 29th - Avril Lavigne's Live Show, a HUGE disappointment!!!
Dec 26th - Mamma Mia Musical, last but not least - best show in 2008 for me... No regrets at all.

Family trip to BALI

The 3 mischievous siblings ^^

Can't resist the breathtaking view!!

2008 was also a year for me to say goodbye to my closest girlfriends. In less than a year, I suddenly find myself in a state left with no friends whom I can really rely on. Cindy's leaving on May 1st and Catherine's on Sep 19th, both left me devastated. They are the people who know me very well, and I see myself turning into them no matter to share my good or bad news. Without them, life seems a bit too lonely... When I'm more accustomed with their leaving, another big blow came just a few days ago - Caryn left to US on 28th. She was my lunch and movie companion. It's hard not to think about her during lunch time nowadays... Not waiting any longer, Wen Bin too will leave to Kampar. And that means "the 4 sisters" outing will no longer be held for a long long time. Our last picture together, was in the airport seeing Caryn off. I thought I could hide my tears, telling dear and Bin that I won't cry. Little did I know... the tears flowed.

Last Christmas with my dear and darlings...

:p

Very naughty dear..

So, people... Before you go to bed tonight, ask yourself this question. "What have I accomplished this year?" Be honest when you answer...

Happy New Year to all! *Hugs*

A simple-looking poster, but the show was not simple at all...

"Mamma Mia, here I go again. My my, how can I resisit you?" That's right.. How can I resist it? Mamma Mia musical show was a show I decided that I must go after the movie. The movie actually quite impressed me as truthfully speaking, I never really did enjoy muscial-type-of-movies. This is one is an exceptional I must say. ABBA songs were nice, and I really couldn't believe I actually know so many of them!

The story takes place on a mythical Greek island, and centres around a young girl, Sophie who dreams of her father giving her away at the altar. Problem is, she never knew who her father was, and there were 3 possible candidates - and has invited them all to the wedding. Sophie's mum, Donna was involved in a rock chick band in the past - "Donna and the Dynamos" and has invited her former band members (also her best friends) to the wedding. Complications aroused when the 3 possible dads showed up and turned Donna's mood upside down...

Songs sung during the musical were "I Have A Dream", "Thank You for the Music", "Dancing Queen", "The Winner Takes It All", "Super Trouper", and a lot a lot more... I was so reluctant to leave when the show ended, hoping that there is an encore or something. But, I knew this is impossible because it's a musical show, not a concert.

Musical show means we have to wear nicely, not those shorts or sandals which we went to concerts. It's lucky I wore semi-formal - there were people who bought damn expensive tickets wearing evening gowns + high heels, shirts with ties + coats over it...
Musical show means the venue is somewhere more elegant than usual, this time at Istana Budaya (my 1st time there..), with strong air-conditoner which made me shivered during the show. ><
Musical show means comfortable with cushioned chairs and leveled tiers which made me watched in ease. There those "boxes" only for VVIPs which I only saw existed in movies..
Musical show also means meeting lots of rich people - people who drove BMWs, Benz, etc.., watching a show costs more than a month of my pocket-money (or perhaps 2 or 3 or 4 months of my pocket-money).

Take care my girls till our next Christmas...

It's this time of the year again, where family and friends gather together to celebrate the warmth of Christmas. I can't believe time passes so fast as I still remembered I spent last Christmas in bed, sleeping the day away realizing Christmas has gone by.

This year Christmas eve was planned to be celebrated, but somehow it was not what I've expected. Things didn't turn out exactly what I've wanted, but eventually as the night went by, things are more in control. Although it was not my best celebration, but it probably is my last Christmas with my favourite girlfriends before they leave me one by one. We will be celebrating Christmas again - I believe, perhaps in a few years time...

Oh the so sexy girl.. =)

Things became better with the arrival of the ever-so-sweet and mischievous couple. I've been wanting to meet them for quite some time. And this Christmas became more meaningful with their appearance. I appreciated everything that they did and will always remember how much they have helped.

The devilish him made me wore that on my head... But he's angelic in heart.. :p

Atmosphere is all in place with him. The one who made me laughed non-stop, and sang to me when I'm not in the mood. He made things easier as he took over the camera to take pictures for myself and the girlfriends. =)

We bumped into Sharon too! ^^

Christmas will never be the same without you my dear... Love you!

Last but not the least, I owed a million of thanks to a friend who helped so much till I couldn't express my thanks in words. No matter what I do, I know I'll forever be grateful to him for all he had done to make the night successful Without him, 4 of us won't end up celebrating our seemingly last Christmas together...

Author's note: Merry Christmas to everyone!!

14th Dec marks the day for a mini reunion with a friend of 10 years. We've known each other since 7, and now we're 21. Time really do flies. In the blink of an eye, everything seems to have changed drastically, but the one last thing I needed a change is our friendship. In my memory, she was a tall, thin girl with long hair. Her studies were so well, and sometimes I really do envy her.. :p

She's SHUI LING!

She was my companion as we were in the same class in standard 1, 2, 3, and 5. We were the first batch of PTS students (skipped standard 4 - express class), and I was so worried to leave all the other friends... Luckily, she was there with me. Although we couldn't make it for the same class in standard 6 (perhaps my results were bad?) but still we spent time together in the library - borrowing books, to improve our English. Then she will come to my house, and we spent time doing homework together especially Mathematics. We'll talk almost about everything. We took our BCG injections together. And too bad, I cried... She was always the brave one. Aw... One thing I can never forget - her mum's chocolate cake! Never fail to make me drool for that...

Sing Yee dear...

Not to forget Sing Yee dear, who made the effort to come out and meet us too. Talking about Ah Yee, I always feel that the world is indeed very small. I'm a friend of Shui Ling's from primary school. Yee and Shui Ling known each other during secondary school. Then Yee transfered to my school during her Form 6. That's how we are all connected. Ah Yee taught me a lot of things with her matured mind and independent attitude. She knew everything from A-Z and never fail to give me encouragement I need. Ah Yee said I must boost up my confidence level - and so I shall put this into my New Year's resolution. I must learn how to say NO and be confident about it!

Miss Chen Kam Lai =)

This is an extra bonus! Never in my dreams I thought I'll bump into her in an ordinary shopping mall - MidValley... I always imagine that our reunion will be a planned one, resulting from a lot of arrangements and uncountable sms-es + phone conversations. But, it seems fate knows it all. Haven't been meeting her for almost 10 years, I found she has grown into a very attractive young lady. Standing next to her, I can't help myself from staring her sometimes ( hope that she didn't notice.. :p ) She have this flawless skin, that every girl will die for... Her healthy, beautiful hair..

A perfect picture for four!

I shall be looking forward to our next meeting... Take care till then, everyone! *Hugs*

Backdated Post V - Actual event took place on 21/11/08

In the midst of studying for my exam papers...

There lies a wedding invitation card on my Microbiology textbook waiting to be opened... This is my 1st own invitation. Was thinking whether should I go or not - as exam is still on...

Front page of the card...

After looking into the content.. I've come to a decision - go for it!

That's my only night which I went out for more than 2 hours during this whole month...

It's dear's birthday! Happy Birthday dear!!! Alright, this is not this post's about...

Let's proceed to cake-baking. =)

Sponge cake mix - Blueberry cake.

Ingredients: 250 gm Vanilla sponge mix 250gm Egg 65mL Fresh milk 1tsp Vanilla essence 65gm Melted butter

Method: 1. Place all ingredients (except melted butter) into a mixing bowl.

2. Whisk till light and fluffy with high speed for 6 minutes.

3. Fold in melted butter.

4. Pour mixtures into a 9" lined round mould. Bake in a pre-heated oven at 180 degree celcius for 30-40 minutes.

5. Cut the cake into half (horizontally). Spread out white cream and blueberry jam (could be anything else according to preference)

6. Put on the other half back.

Decoration time! This is all depends on one's creativity. Please do not do as mine - as mine is so-not-nice.

Cover the whole cake with white cream - smoothly. Mine is so-not-smooth...

Cherries were put on!

Almond slices on the side, and writings were on it...

Ta-Da! My slightly defected finished cake - but tasted really good eh.. :p

Caution! Decoration must be finished before the white cream melt away!!

Hey, I'm a beginner. This is all I can do. Happy Birthday mum! This is my first ever baking a cake. This is to show you a bit of my sincerity.. =)

Special thanks to aunt - for teaching sister and I on how to bake, using your oven, and even making the surprise to perfection for keeping the cake safe from her... ^^ Mummy had a great night complimenting how good the cake tasted and how nice it looked - see? a mum's love is so great! She said the cake looks nice.. Oh My God..

The time now, 0221...

Backdated Post III - Actual event took place on 26/10/08

It's an amazing thing that this friend asked me out, as included this time - it's only our 2nd time meeting. I first met him last year and that's before he went off to Singapore. He came back for the weekend and I was in his friends-meeting-list. Honored, isn't it? =)

2nd amazing thing would be his photographic memory. He could remember the way to my house as he only came before once. That's when I thought maybe my house is an easy target. Then, shock came when he also remembered the way to my grandma's house and could recognize which house... And people, the 1st time he came to these 2 places, it was already dark at night! For a person who have no sense of directions at all - yup, that's me, I really envy him for having this ability. =(

Thanks to Mr Khoo for the treat - Haagen Dazs chocolate fondue!

Now I know his favourite food is chocolatezzz.. which will make me fat, but he won't... That makes me feel God's so unfair. Oh, and he promised me a Haagen Dazs birthday cake for me next year. I'll remember that, so do you. Hahaha...

Oh-so-adorable-teddy!

My latest birthday gift of the year which came all the way from SIngapore. Late does not matter, what matters most is the sincerity. Sincerity is 101% as he did a charity for me on my birthday...

A sticker-proof of charity bazaar.

So, someone did a charity on behalf of me on my 21st birthday... No wonder my birthday wish came true.. ^^

At last, before I'm of his car, he spilled the beans... He did not really own photographic memory. He did his homework the night before coming to my house. He tried out the way to my house, but didn't dare to call me as he said it was late at night. Awww... so sweet of him! See, I said sincerity is the most important element. He truly made my day. =)

Backdated Post II - Actual event took place on 25/10/08

After about two years of not going for a dental check-up, I guess it's time to pay my dentist a visit... Sister and I already made an appointment, but when we reached we still had to wait for some time. Both of us only spent 20 minutes in the dental clinic - reason is we have very healthy teeth. Scaling is all we need to do... =)

Our most trustworthy dentist - Dr Khoo. We've been his patients for more than a decade...

While, at the night.. The adults were all invited to a wedding dinner, and us the cousins rule in the family again. We went out to Puchong for shabu-shabu. A famous dine-in in the town now it seems. At 7pm, the place were so full of people. I was so shocked to see the crowd... It's like the best food in the world that the people are waiting. Indeed, it was not bad - but we were too full to try out all the stuff on the conveyor belt (those we see in japanese restaurants). What I like about that place is all of us have our own individual pot to boil our own stuff, we won't need to share a common pot... That's more hygienic and convenient. It's not like I mind about sharing though.. :p

Since we have quite a number of us tonight, we decided not to end our night too early, and so we went to a cousin's place and leisurely started our "killer" game. Little did we realize, we were hooked up with the game and all were reluctant to leave as the climax builds up. Last game took place at 1am++ At last reaching home by 2am.. Tired eh!

Backdated Post I - Actual event took place on 24/10/08

It's dear's early birthday celebration (actual birthday on 1/11) from Caryn, Bin and I. We've thought to perfection but things turned out so-so only. But, the most important is that dear enjoyed the day. =)

Whenever 4 of us are together. we'll go wild laughing at everything, and taking photos like mad. We were to plan a surprise for her, so we asked to meet up at 3pm. Caryn and I went all the way to Bangsar looking for a gift, candles, and cup cakes... Things didn't out fine as we were hindered by traffic jam, glittering candles that cannot be burned, cupcake shop which is located at an unknown place, and we walked all the way to North Point to make for a reservation for 4 at Ninja Jones.

Despite all, we did enjoyed the process - although we complained. We started the day with dear with a movie - High School Musical 3: Senior Year.

Teenage movie with lots of dancing and singing - makes me miss high school more than ever...

I have no idea how this arrangement comes by...

Whole table full of food!!

Itadakimasu!

Birthday girl with her cupcakes...

Celebration ended just like this... My dear, may you enjoy everyday no matter it's up or down.

Min Nah is back after a month of examinations!! I don't know if I did okay, but I certainly hope I could pas all subjects. Things are different from the past, where I no longer aim for a distinction, but only for a mere pass... It's soo pathetic, isn't it? Anyway, over is over....

I've got so many backdated posts to update later on!

17/10 - It seems our outing for this month have reached a maximum level. 3rd time in 2 weeks... will it be too many? Don't think so... =)

This time, Yin cannot join us for movie... because she's watching it with other friends.. (Caryn, Bin and I are so bu shuang.. =p) But she did joined us for lunch... Go-gung in The Gardens. Food are not bad, services are good. We spent a fortune for this lunch. Guess how much a green tea cost... RM8! Come to my house.. I'll boil you green tea - FOC! Haha.. But, trying this once in a while won't hurt I guess...

Then, we chatted for the whole lot of time and again rushing to the movie. This always happen to us. We were never punctual to movie. And I wonder why... We know exactly why we are late all the time, but never make the effort to change this bad habit of ours... For the first few times, we missed the advertisements (we don't mind at all), then we started to miss the previews, then now we even missed the beginning of our show... Very serious problem we are facing... Sigh...

Caryn and Wen Bin to busy to notice us taking photo...

Butterfly Lovers

Everyone knows this is a very touching and sad love story, but I didn't know why this movie turns out to be a big disappointment. The whole storyline seems weird and abrupt. The pace is too slow and draggy plus the ending didn't make us felt sad instead we were laughing in the cinema... I thought it was only 3 of us laughing.. but the fact is the whole cinema is laughing... Ironically, the ending is a sad one. Not recommendable if you ask my opinion... As broke as we were, we wasted RM8 for this. But Wen Bin said something nice bout it - we can release stress by watching this move... aikss..

Another outing contributes to my empty purse... =(

This is again a backdated post. I've told myself to post my entry more frequent, but I failed to do so. A typical procrastinator I am...

After a lot of arrangements and changes, we at last came to a common time where we all could come out - Sat, 11/10. But too bad, yin again couldn't make it. Earlier, I've heard from Caryn that Wen Bin might not be in a good mood due to some reasons only known to ourselves; and indeed when I saw her, she doesn't look good. After a long story from her, I am so afraid that she'll break down in tears... To be honest, after all the years I've known her - this is my first time seeing her like this. And I've always thought she's tough... Caryn and I consoled her, took her for a nice lunch, gave her a belated birthday present, watched movie together... lastly went for a nice dessert + shopping. After all these, her mood turns better... ^^

Her all-time favourite Cherry Blossom fragrance from Loccitane as belated birthday present...

A nice lunch is enough to fill up our stomachs...

A movie which is nice enough to keep us from yawning and the toilet of course..

A dessert is always a girl's loyal companion...

Awaiting for our next meet-up... although we are all broke I know..

The time now, 2302...
