My life, My memory, My dream

To celebrate the day, we decided to bring mum for Shanghai cuisine at J.W. Marriot. Costly, but the food was great! Like many others Chinese lady, mum has always preferred Chinese food.

Shanghai xiao long bao || drunken chicken || marinated cucumbers || lion's head || fried foo chuk || fried asparagus || steamed mantou || sweet and sour fish with taufu
Pomelo mango soup || complimentary heart-shaped jellies || black sesame tang yuan in ginger soup || fruits with cold almond pudding || red bean pastries

Mummy - a single word that brings so much more meaning than just simply calling it. She is the one who takes care of us (my brother, sister and I) when we are sick, cleans the house, cooks for the whole family, does the dishes, washes the clothes, and the list goes on. Like a wonder woman, doing all sorts of household chores and amazingly able to find those forever-will-go-missing-things whenever I shouted, "Mum! Where's my ...?"

As a person who is always strict since I was young, she made us learned everything thinking it's all for our own good. From swimming to computer lessons to piano, she was never tired to look through our workbooks (and always bringing a cane with her!). As we grew older, the softer she got and less scoldings as she know we are all old enough to know what we should do and we should not do. But then again due to her increasing age, nagging becomes a constant problem (again I knew it's still for our own good).

These recent years, mum's age has been catching up pretty fast. She complained of  aching legs, tired body thinking that prolly' she has some underlying disease. I sometimes tried to push that though to the back of my mind, wanting to remember her as the strong woman always but it seems mum cannot be young forever. To all the future years of journey with mum, I promise I'll love you (only more, and not less).

I realised I've been caption-ing all my posts title according to the days - it shows that I'm having a pack schedule everyday...

Friday went for classes as usual, and after class, dear and Mun came and picked me up from uni and went to Levain - again.. This is our new-found love, where we can go many many times without feeling bored. This is place is nicely decorated, with comfortable ambience, and of course with nice pastries. The aroma of breads filled the area as we were spending our time chatting the evening away. Perfect teatime for besties =)

Mun and I - my long lost girlfriend =)

Mun is like a long-lost friend. We were good friends when we were young, and eventually lost contact after secondary school. And now, we are hanging out again like regular friends. Glad that awkwardness do not exist between us, instead I feel comfortable chatting with her. Updating her everything about me for the recent few years back.

After Levain, Mun and I sent dear to her classes, Mun waited for Jin Wah at Cheras while I joined my parents for dinner at Sri Petaling. After weeks of craving for Korean food, and there I am.. having Korean dinner with my beloved parents and aunt's family. After dinner, Jin Wah and Mun picked dear and I again late at night. Although we thought of going to Genting at first, we finally decided on sing k at Neway... Midnight k lasted until 4am. And I reached home by 4sth...

Friday is supposed to be this way, right? Full of activities with the loved ones...

Backdated Post II - Actual event took place on 25/10/08

After about two years of not going for a dental check-up, I guess it's time to pay my dentist a visit... Sister and I already made an appointment, but when we reached we still had to wait for some time. Both of us only spent 20 minutes in the dental clinic - reason is we have very healthy teeth. Scaling is all we need to do... =)

Our most trustworthy dentist - Dr Khoo. We've been his patients for more than a decade...

While, at the night.. The adults were all invited to a wedding dinner, and us the cousins rule in the family again. We went out to Puchong for shabu-shabu. A famous dine-in in the town now it seems. At 7pm, the place were so full of people. I was so shocked to see the crowd... It's like the best food in the world that the people are waiting. Indeed, it was not bad - but we were too full to try out all the stuff on the conveyor belt (those we see in japanese restaurants). What I like about that place is all of us have our own individual pot to boil our own stuff, we won't need to share a common pot... That's more hygienic and convenient. It's not like I mind about sharing though.. :p

Since we have quite a number of us tonight, we decided not to end our night too early, and so we went to a cousin's place and leisurely started our "killer" game. Little did we realize, we were hooked up with the game and all were reluctant to leave as the climax builds up. Last game took place at 1am++ At last reaching home by 2am.. Tired eh!

This is again a backdated post. I've told myself to post my entry more frequent, but I failed to do so. A typical procrastinator I am...

After a lot of arrangements and changes, we at last came to a common time where we all could come out - Sat, 11/10. But too bad, yin again couldn't make it. Earlier, I've heard from Caryn that Wen Bin might not be in a good mood due to some reasons only known to ourselves; and indeed when I saw her, she doesn't look good. After a long story from her, I am so afraid that she'll break down in tears... To be honest, after all the years I've known her - this is my first time seeing her like this. And I've always thought she's tough... Caryn and I consoled her, took her for a nice lunch, gave her a belated birthday present, watched movie together... lastly went for a nice dessert + shopping. After all these, her mood turns better... ^^

Her all-time favourite Cherry Blossom fragrance from Loccitane as belated birthday present...

A nice lunch is enough to fill up our stomachs...

A movie which is nice enough to keep us from yawning and the toilet of course..

A dessert is always a girl's loyal companion...

Awaiting for our next meet-up... although we are all broke I know..

The time now, 2302...

Daorae Korean BBQ Restaurant. This is a place which I already went for few times, and for some reason I didn't blog out a post about it before. But yet, I find it really a must to share it with friends. I guess most people already knew the existence of this restaurant because it's quite famous.

The one dish to die for is The Kimchi Jjigae which is a combination of pork, kimchi and tofu in a rich spicy kimchi soup. The taste is really fantastic and makes it a favourite for all who likes kimchi. =) Then, the BBQ dishes there were all nice. There are selections of pork, poultry, mutton of beef + marinated or non-marinated.
There will be 10 side dishes (that is a typical korean food) for each table and don't worry about the small portion.. because it's refillable! Not to forget about Korean's famous stone rice. Superb! I normally never eat that much of vegetables and I loathed mushrooms but this stone rice is irresistible.

Above all that, customer service is good. Waiters are efficient and fast-moving. With only a finger's snap, they will come to assist you. What if you're a first-time comer? Don't fret about it. There will be people teaching you how to eat it. The best part is when you're about to leave the restaurant, there will be people escorting you until the lift and kept on saying things like "Thank you", "Kamsa hamita" (thank you in Korean), "Have a nice day" and so on.. And they are actually bowing to a 90 degree. That's how respected you'll feel... A satisfied meal with a fair price is what we always want, right? This is the place you can get this.. =)

Whole table full of dishes.. Table must not be small. =p

My favourite of all - Kimchi Jjigae

The famous stone rice - must try! Although you're not a fan of vege and mushrooms.

The address for this place:
8C, Top Speed Business Center
Jalan USJ 10/1J
Taipan Triangle
47620 UEP Subang Jaya

Above address is the branch I normally go. There are a few more branches available.

This is not my first time dining at this place - Delicious. I reckoned that most people already knew this place, and have been there. Although this place has gained it's fame and is so always full of customers, I still think I have a need to post this up, just to share with my friends - some who might not known about this place yet.
The food is nice and have wide varieties from Asian Delights all the way to Western Cuisines. And of course, never to miss out it's mouth-watering desserts. The portion of food is reasonable, and desserts are usually meant to be shared by 2 or 3.
It's prices are ranging from as low as RM 4.90 until as high as RM 40++
So, I myself think it is quite affordable to dine out here once a month, or perhaps once two months with friends and family. :)

Pictures speak a thousand words...

So guys and girls, do try out this restaurant if you have the chance to. It's located in Bangsar Village II. Easy to find! ^^

The pictures are small, so click on it to see a larger version.

P/S: Dear, you'll definitely love this place, with the white decorations, and comfy sofa with cushions. ^^
