My life, My memory, My dream

Yearly family vacation had us chose Eastern Europe this time. We couldn't afford the livelihood of free and easy trip for our elderly parents, hence going on a tour is a wise decision.
This time we went with Golden Travel Tour (GTT) for they are well-known for Europe tours. In order to accommodate nephew's holiday schedule we chose to go during year-end, which means cold winter time! I've always loved travelling in colder climate but worried that my parents might not be able to take it. This time, I made sure we are all well-prepared before departure.

Poland - Czech - Austria - Hungary: This is the route that we took.

Arriving Poland!

What is a little adventure if there's no mishaps in my life? I should have known by now that it's not always smooth road ahead of me. Third day in vacation, I've lost my purse due to pickpocket. It was the last night in Poland and I haven't started spending money yet! I told myself it's alright, my passport and phone are still with me. Somehow, I still got a little bit moody. I've heard various stories of people being stolen their bags, pickpocket at Eastern Europe. I've been careful but apparently not cautious enough.

Every cloud has a silver lining it seems. I managed to make a police report upon arrival at Vienna on day eight of our trip, and this serves as an evidence to do my travel insurance claims later.

These 12 days went by quickly and every place we went was merely a touch and go version. Well, the cons of following a tour. But this experience gave me a glimpse of the place that I would love to return to someday and explore further. While saving money for the next trip, let's just recall all the happy moments by scrolling through the beautiful photos.

I didn't want to write too much on this post because the routes weren't planned by ourselves. Gonna end this lengthy "photo album" post with a cute video of my daddy, my first love💗

The days are passing by crazily fast last year. I’ve been busy chasing for health, for wealth and most of the time for sleep.

I almost forgot the feeling of writing, the overflowing emotions and thoughts through my head but couldn’t find the right words to describe.

2017 had been a fruitful year. I’ve been out and about seeing the world, spending time w family and friends as well as meeting strangers along the way. New relationships built, old ones reconciled.

Stepping into the 30s marks a turning point for me. I’ve learnt on how to be an adult, to be responsible for choices made, to not regret mistakes made. Yes, I do mistakes too cause’ I’m not perfect, and through these   imperfections I’m able to see and believe good in life. I’ve failed and feared but learnt how to overcome obstacles. I’ve also come to realise that pain doesn’t go away - but learning how to deal with it is the way to be. Embrace the pain, dive into the emotions, let the tears flow and experience it fully.

Savour every moment, be it joy or sorrow because right now, at this moment, is the youngest I’ll ever be.

Annnndddd, Happy New Year from the both of us! Muahhh 💋

Finally, I've joined the 30s Club - officially, no turning back. This piece is necessary for those people who made my birthday extra amazing this year. Birthday celebrations started as early as 2 weeks before the actual date. Just 2 Sundays before birthday came, I was blessed to have my Powerpuff w me (just like the usual years before), and we had a nice brunchie w long chats.

Thank you Powerpuffs :)
Then, on the Friday right before birthday, I had a small but warm-hearted celebration w my family. These people who gave me life, and everything in life - I thank God to have them, and forever be grateful that I'm the youngest in the family (not anymore after baby Ethan is born). Thank you for showering me w the best, and gave me the most amazing moments and always be there for me no matter how hard I fall. Thank you for all the support and encouragement, and being my strength pillars. W all my heart, I wished upon the candle on my cake - that we will forever be healthy and happy as we are now. We don't get to choose our family, but if there's afterlife I would wanna be apart of this family all over again, and again, and again.

My birthday bundle!
On the actual day, I have a date w dear. And as all the years before, she never missed my birthdays. Even when she was away to study, there were calls and birthday cards from afar. And this year makes no exception. Dear said she will be the chauffeur for the day, all I have to do is to get dressed and wait for her to come pick us for dinner. As we reached the cafe, and I pushed open the glass door - there I was surprised by these lovely bunch of girls. They had been here since secondary school days, and we had shared so much and so many stories to tell. We were always together during life events, and supported each other at difficult times. Thank you my fair ladies, my happy pills for celebrating this special moment w me as I join you all last in this 30s club. We didn't grow older, we grow wiser :)

My fairladies, #myhappypills
Special thanks to this girl next to me, not only on this particular day but throughout my whole life till' now - braving me through life's ups and downs, picking me up when I hit the ground, slapping me with harsh truth when she needs to, putting sense into me, and plainly just be there for me no matter when I needed her or not. Thank you for being a sister from another mother, showing me kindness and pampering me all the time. Your surprise is yet another success - the blue Magdalene cake and that bunch of sweet pink roses definitely filled my heart much. 30 is not gonna be the same without you. Here's to many more birthdays together! ♥️

Forever my Dearie

This is definitely one birthday to be remembered :)

By far, the year had not started very well for me. It was all about work and being busy, and when it's about time to slow down to prepare for CNY, here I am sitting on my bed typing away on a sick day.

Had onset of fever 4 nights ago, then developed severe sorethroat the morning after. Was told by a Dr that I had tonsilitis - tonsils grade 2 and was given a day MC and started on antibiotics with plenty of fluids. Fever lasted for another 2 days and subsided altogether with the sorethroat. There I thought I've recovered with new rash appearing on my palms and feet the day after.

Sick day 4, only I've been diagnosed with Hand, Foot, and Mouth Disease. A common children's disease, and yet I got it (yea, I'm still a kid). So, another extra two off days! Stay in at home and be a good girl.

With this, I hope 2017 has something better in store for me. I'm better and stronger now.

Time again, waits for no one.
Can't believe that I only wrote a single post for year 2016.

I've always like to pen down my thoughts and experiences so that I can always read them again and oftenly I have a different feeling / opinion from what I've felt previously.

Though' I didn't manage to write down everything, but last year indeed was a fulfilling and enjoyable ride. I was grateful to be blessed with all the good and beautiful things, with all my loved ones around.

If I were to mention one sad moment - that is the passing of grandma. Her passing was the lost of the entire family. The pain of losing her was greatly felt by my mum, who fell sick and cried for days. The last time I lost someone as close was almost 13 years ago, when grandpa left us suddenly, just 2 weeks before Chinese New Year. Through them, I learnt bout' family and unity. And thanks to them I'm sharing a strong bond with my cousins. I guess grandparents have done all they can for us, and lived most of their lives. Grandma would have met grandpa by now - and they are prolly' looking at us, making sure all of us are fine.

P/s: Maybe I should make "updating my blog weekly" one of my resolution for Year 2017 😛

a new place where I'm currently working. Been moved down to this small town for a month now already. As the day goes my, my heart is reaching more to home where my family and friends are. I thought things will get easier as time passes, but reality is the opposite way. The more I stay here, the more I yearn the days I was back at home, the place I worked, to meet the people I used to meet. I guess that's the way human is - to miss what's not here anymore.

Slowly, I'm learning bout being independent, away from being daddy's girl, to stay quiet in a small town, to sleep in a tiny room without air-cond, to travel every week driving long distance on my own (if I'm not working on the weekend)... Endless things I'm learning and growing up. Shall be strong and return home to be a better person.

Counting down to,
334 days left.

Hi there! This is a personal space where I pour all my thoughts and mood posts into words. A place of serenity during sleepless midnights, and where I return to look at how far I've come and what had life gave me.

Live well, laugh more, love much. X
